Linda’s passion for Integrative Medicine began 20 years ago when she began investigating the healing properties of therapeutic essential oils. After studying alternative medicine, Linda then received certifications in Reiki and started practicing yoga. When learning to meditate, she discovered Yoga Nidra. Upon taking her first class, Linda was compelled to delve deeper into this ancient practice, and she knew she had a calling to learn how to teach others to reach this deep form of meditation. Linda is an advanced Amrit Method Facilitator in Yoga Nidra under Kamini Desai, PhD.
Why practice Yoga Nidra?: Because Yoga Nidra relies on something the body already knows how to do: fall asleep. Yoga Nidra is a sleep based meditation technique that allows the body and mind to deeply relax. In Yoga Nidra we follow the pathway towards sleep, but we do not fall asleep. Instead we consciously rest in the gap between us and our thoughts, which allows conscious access to a non-doing state of being. Composed of a series of body, breath, and awareness techniques—designed to move the practitioner into a progressive release of doing—the function of Yoga Nidra techniques are to slip into a deeper state of letting go…so much so that the experience of the body and mind can disappear completely for a time. Here, shifts no longer happen from the doing mind. They happen through a total release of doing. You are doing nothing to make it happen and thus inner transformation HAPPENS. Even practicing yoga nidra once a week, you will start to notice a difference in day to day life.
Linda takes this experience one step further and incorporates sound therapy with crystal and Tibetan singing bowls to end her yoga nidra sessions. She holds a certificate in Sound Healing, which is the therapeutic application of sound frequencies to the body and mind with the intention of bringing them into a state of harmony and health. She can help you to overcome stress, reduce anxiety, and reset sleep cycles.
